Risk and Reward!

Happy Tuesday!

This day was made especially for YOU!

SPIRIT:
Verse: "This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!"

SOUL:
It's hitting me that I am truly in a place in my life where I am not messing around, lol!  I am going after things that have been in my heart for a long time with great "gusto". I am choosing to be glad in each day, and I have a renewed sense of passion to make things that I have had on my heart for a long time happen...to take risks, to try, to explore, and to put it all out there with my whole heart and see what happens. With great risk, often...I'm learning not always, comes great reward, or at least great growth if you allow it to. I will be 39 in September, and I am at a place where I will not settle in my life for anything less than what my heart is telling me to do, or try, or go after. I love this, because this is happening during some of the most difficult months in other areas that I have had in awhile, so I say that to say...don't let situations and circumstances stop you from going after life with everything you've got, and never let circumstances, or people, or situations hold you back from going after desires in your heart and mind. Sometimes we win and sometimes we lose, but we will guarantee to always grow if we allow ourselves to, no matter what!

MIND:
Take a moment...it doesn't have to be long, and list the desires that are in your heart. There is reason that they are there, and being a single woman, single parent does not mean that we sacrifice everything for everyone else at the expense of those desires. They may not all be fulfilled at once, or ever, but make a start. Make a list, and then choose one thing that you can begin to work towards and make a plan. Start with small steps that are manageable, but make the plan and choose the mindset to do it! You can do it! If you are a single parent then you are strong, and courageous, and have the mental and emotional capacity to fight through things by staying strong, and powering through...you were made to go after things, and make them happen..so do that for YOU today! There's never a good time, so start the first step today!

BODY:
Health: Your job as a single parent is a big job...that requires you to function at your best at all times, because if not you, then who?;) So, with that being said, fueling your body for each day with the right fuel is imperative...you have to. You need to do this for your children, and for you! So, start with going through your food and looking at balance. Make sure you have more fresh foods then packaged, make sure your refrig is filled with color...lots of fruits and vegetables! Make sure to have lean proteins on hand, and take a moment to begin to plan your meals and portions for the day/week that encompass fresh fruits and vegetables and lean proteins...the key is to PLAN and PREPARE to fuel the body with healthy fuel DESPITE the busy schedule! This is the starting point to overall health!

Fitness: Again, balance is everything! You need a balance of cardio and strength training, and making sure to work each muscle group in a balanced way throughout the week so that you don't underwork, or overwork those muscles...make a plan and stick to it for one week, and then each week, modify and adjust...add more weight, increase time, increase stamina etc.:) Do this for you!

Do you see the theme today? Make a plan! The formula is PLAN=PURPOSE=PROSPERITY for the day/week/months and years ahead!  You are beautiful, and God made you to carry out the perfect plan that he has for your life, BUT he needs you to be healthy in all areas to do that!

Hugs!

Plans for you!

Good Morning!

I'm starting off today sharing a few of my favorite things!;)

SPIRIT:
Verse: "For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to fail you; to give you a future, and a hope."

SOUL:
This has been my life verse since I graduated high school. At that time, I never imagined the impact it would have on me throughout my life. No matter what happens today, God has plan and purpose for YOUR life. You were made to walk in that plan and purpose, and when you are walking in it you know, because there is hope, prosperity and favor in everything you do. Do not accept anything else, because anything that doesn't bring those things is not what God has for you, and will just get you off track and moving in the wrong direction...a direction that most likely will bring upset to your day. Stay focused today on who God made you to be, and the plans He has for you, and claim those for your life, whether you are seeing them in circumstances or not. Remember, God can be trusted in all things. You can trust Him...His plan is greater, filled with peace, and joy, and will bring you through life right where you need to be, when you need to be there!:)

MIND:
Plan out your time! I cannot stress this enough. Do not let days escape you...take the time to write down what you need to do, how long you think it will take and MAKE A PLAN for the day...write everything you need to do, in the order you need to do it, and stick to it...it takes strong discipline of the mind, BUT you will find peace in your day by taking the time to make the plan, and then have the determination to carry it out. It brings more peace than you can imagine, and a great night's sleep knowing you accomplished what you needed to for that day! :)

BODY:
Health:
I start everyday by drinking a glass, or bottle, of lemon water. I do it right away before anything else. It cleanses and provides a quick detox to get your body up and running, and ready for a productive day!

Fitness:
So much here I want to emphasize, but I will start with basics. Get moving! Whatever you do today, make time to get moving and do exercise that gets your heart rate up...you have to get that heart rate up for a period of 30 sec to a minute, then you can bring it down for 1-2 minutes, and bring it up again...continue this pattern for 30 min. to an hour and start enjoying some results! Make the time to take care of your body today...take the stairs at work instead of the elevator, park far away from the door to give you more walking time...even minor adjustments to the day add up over time.:)

Your are beautiful, and loved, and exactly who God made you to be, and he will give you everything you need for this day! Do not let anyone, or anything come and steal that promise from you today! Stay strong, stand firm in who you are and go after this day knowing that no matter what, there is plan and purpose for YOU!:)

Hugs!

Welcome!

Welome to my Blog "Kisses From Heaven"!

I have been a single parent for over six years now, and have walked through very difficult times, as well as times of growth, healing, joy, love and laughter. Through this time I have worked hard to keep my mind, body, spirit and soul healthy, whole, complete, and nutured each and every day. God made each and every one of us with a plan, and purpose and destiny that He has for our lives, and one that He wants us to fulfill. As we move through life as a single parent, situations and circumstances can come and easily begin to take our focus off of what God has for our life and onto whatever it is we are going through, and over time that can begin to wear away at our hopes, and dreams, and joy that we are to carry throughout our life. We can't allow that to happen...I've learned through very difficult circumstances, that I will share along the way in this blog, that it is up to us to not allow our plan, and purpose and destiny to be stolen by situations, people, and circumstances, and the pain that those can bring in our lives. It is our job to stay alert to taking care of every part of us so that no matter what comes, no matter how hard, no matter how hurtful, or joyous, or hopeless...no matter what, we have a balance in our lives that brings us THROUGH every circumstance and situation with love, laughter, joy, strength, health and wholeness. It isn't easy...never easy, but always worth it.:) We have to take care of each part of us so we can stay strong, and run the race with passion and purpose and strength and finish strong.;)

My hope is that this blog encourages single Moms along whatever journey you are on, and brings pieces into your day that you can hold onto, and use to run the race with passion, health, joy, strength, endurance and love for each and every day as you fulfill the purpose and plan for your life. Being a single parent does not mean that our life, and desires of our hearts no longer are relevant, it's the opposite...it means we were specially chosen to run a different race, for something new and exciting ahead! It's exciting when you look at this journey with that lens. This is your time to grow and develop, and make the most of who God made you to be.:)

God made only one you! There is only one, there will never be another, so let's take care of what He made by taking the time to take care of our mind through encouragement, body through health and fitness, spirit through scripture, and soul through encouragement of all the ways God comes in every areas of our life and sends "kisses from heaven" to love us up and keep us going!

I look forward to sharing with you!
